St Anthony Chorale (violin/cello duo)

Title: St Anthony Chorale

Composer: Joseph Haydn, arr. David Gable

Note: The violin part in this setting is playable on flute or oboe by omitting double stops. This melody was used by Brahms in Variations on a Theme by Haydn. Some historians now attribute the original tune to Ignaz Pleyel.

For a beautiful set of short lyric pieces, try performing the St Anthony Chorale with the Brahms Lullaby and the Brahms Waltz.

Other duo arrangements of St Anthony Chorale are available, including versions for two violins; two cellos; violin/viola; and viola/cello.
