St Anthony Chorale (viola duo)

Title: St Anthony Chorale

Composer: Joseph Haydn, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Two Violas

Printout: 2 pages

Note: Sometimes attributed to Pleyel, the St Anthony Chorale was used by Brahms as the theme for Variations on a theme by Haydn. This arrangement uses simple double stops in both parts to fill out harmonies and enrich the texture. St Anthony Chorale is ideal music for preludes and interludes, and it can even serve as a slow processional.

Duet versions of the St Anthony Chorale for violin/viola and viola/cello are also available.
