Va Pensiero (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves), from Nabucco (string trio – violin, viola and cello)

$4.79

Title: Va Pensiero (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from the opera Nabucco

Composer: Giuseppe Verdi, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin, Viola and Cello

Printout: 5 pages

Note: Va Pensiero is one of Verdi’s most beautiful choruses, and it moved his audiences so much that the throngs of people lining the streets as his funeral cortege passed through Milan spontaneously began singing it to express their grief. In this setting the cello plays the opening theme accompanied by rolling arpeggios in the violin.

Va Pensiero is also available in a trio arrangement for two violins and cello. Click here.
