March, from Fidelio (violin viola duo)

Title: March, from the opera Fidelio

Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin and Viola

Printout: 2 pages

Note: This light and spirited march is from Act I of  Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio.  Curiously, it is played as the cruel prison governor and his guards enter the scene. The orchestration is fairly light, lending the music to arrangements for small ensembles.
