Note: This march, from Act I of Beethoven’s only opera, is light and cheerful. Ironic, perhaps, given the amount of stress Beethoven experienced over the production of this opera. Including it in a wedding set provides a respite from the usual repertoire. It also makes a very nice non-traditional recessional march.
