Note: Nicolas Chédeville wrote primarily light music for the enjoyment of the upper class. His instrument of choice was the musette, a small bagpipe, but most of his compositions were indicated as also being suitable for flutes, oboes or violins. This movement from op. 8 is like a musical portrait of an elegant Italian lady. Both parts of La Signora can be played on flute or oboe.
