Un di felice, eterea, from La Traviata (cello duo)

Title: Un di felice, eterea, from the opera La Traviata

Composer: Giuseppe Verdi, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Two Cellos

Printout: 4 pages

Note: Un di felice is one of the most exquisite duets in the opera repertory. In this arrangement, the cello 1 part carries Alfredo’s part in the first section then transitions to Violetta’s coloratura lines in the second half. The cello 1 part has passages in tenor clef and is challenging due to its high register and delicacy.

More Verdi for two cellos:

Grand March, from Aida
La donna è mobile, from Rigoletto
Soldier’s Chorus (Part I – “Or co’ dadi), from Il Trovatore
Va Pensiero, from Nabucco
