Invitation to the Dance (string trio)

$5.99

Title: Invitation to the Dance

Composer: Carl Maria von Weber, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin; Violin 2/Viola; Cello

Printout: 8 pages

Note: Weber wrote this as a piano solo while working on his ground-breaking opera, Der Freischutz. It is the first known example of a “concert waltz” and was later orchestrated by Hector Berlioz. The violin 1 part is rather high for oboe but works very well for flute. Invitation to the Dance is a guaranteed hit for receptions and parties.
