Dance of the Tumblers, from The Snow Maiden – Tchaikovsky (string quartet)

$5.99

Title: Dance of the Tumblers, from the incidental music to The Snow Maiden

Composer: P. I. Tchaikovsky, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin 1; Violin 2; Viola; Cello

Printout: 8 pages

Note: Tchaikovsky’s 1873  incidental music to Alexander Ostrovsky’s play The Snow Maiden, op. 12, is not to be confused with Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera of the same name. The latter work was based on Ostrovsky’s play and written about a decade later. Ostrovsky’s play was unsuccessful, but critics and audiences loved Tchaikovsky’s music, which remains popular to this day.
