Amazing Grace (string quartet)

$4.79

Title: Amazing Grace

Composer: traditional, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin 1; Violin 2; Viola; Cello

Printout: 4 pages

Note: Amazing Grace is arguably one of the most popular and best known of hymns. The tune, originally called “New Britain” existed long before American composer William Walker connected it to the hymn lyrics composed by John Newton. In this setting, the melody is shared by violin 1, viola and cello, who alternate with harmony lines and countermelodies. The first violin part can be performed on flute, though the range goes a bit high for oboe. This is a must-have piece for Protestant weddings and church services.
