Note: During the Anvil Chorus, which is probably the theatrical highlight of Il Trovatore, an assortment of gypsy blacksmiths gather on stage to sing about the delights of swinging heavy hammers from dawn to dusk in a swelteringly hot smithy. Just kidding. They are actually singing about the delights of wine and women from dusk to dawn, but no one can tell for all the crashing and banging going on in the orchestra pit.
