March, from The Nutcracker (violin viola duo)
Title: March, from the ballet The Nutcracker
Composer: Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, arr. David Gable
Instrumentation: Violin and Viola
Printout: 6 pages
Note: The Nutcracker is one of the most beloved ballets, and also one of Tchaikovsky’s most popular works. This march is heard early in the ballet, during the party scene. Much of the ballet score is too contrapuntal to be played by two instruments, but the March works remarkably well.
