La donna è mobile, from Rigoletto (violin viola duo)

$3.49

Title: La donna è mobile, from the opera Rigoletto

Composer: Giuseppe Verdi, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin and Viola

Printout: 2 pages

Note: That Verdi would give this cheerful melody, with the lyrics “woman is fickle,” to the predatory Duke of Mantua seems out of place. One supposes (and hopes) that he was intending irony to accentuate the character’s flaws. In any case, cheerful it is, and it was one of the top ten hits in its day.
