Note: In Handel’s oratorio, this march is played as the triumphant Judeans return to the city. It makes an excellent wedding recessional for those who like the traditional marches but want something unique. In the oratorio it immediately follows the chorus, “See, the Conqu’ring Hero Comes.” The violin 1 part is playable on trumpet, flute or oboe.
