Note: The six Moments Musicaux are among the most frequently performed of Schubert’s piano works, and no. 3 is certainly the best known of the set. Light-hearted and whimsical, it is well suited for performance in many settings. (By the way, the last note in measure 51 of the cello part looks like a misprint but is correct. Schubert used a vii dim. 7 there rather than a dominant 7.)
