Note: When people think of Wachet auf, what comes to mind is not the chorale on which it is based, but rather the elegant violin obligato, and when clients ask for the piece, that is what they want to hear. The challenge in playing the music with two instruments is that there are significant portions in which the obligato drops out. In this setting I have carefully cut around those places, leaving just the violin melody and the bass line.
