Composer: Louis Bourgeois , arr. David Gable

Note: Dating to the time of the French Protestant Reformation, this hymn is a standard in many Protestant churches. Since the original harmonization by Claude Le Jeune (c. 1528 – 1600) put the melody in the tenor, I have assigned it initially to the middle voice, moving it to violin 1 for the second strain. The harmonies are based on those of Le Jeune. The violin 1 part may be performed on flute or oboe.
