Note: Excerpted from a sonata subtitled “L’Italienne” (the Italian lady), this little minuet is cheery and light. Chedeville was a capable composer who wrote music to appeal to the amateur musicians of his day. Not quite complex enough for concert use, it is nevertheless engaging for both listener and performer.
