Note: Hanukkah music is a must for groups that play holiday season parties, dinners, and the like. This traditional tune is given three iterations: the first with the melody in the viola, harmonized by violin 2, and accompanied by playful pizzicati in violin 1 and cello; the second moves the tune to violin 1, harmonized by violin 2 and viola, with a rollicking cello part; and the third transposes the tune up an octave while violin 2 and viola alternate rolling arpeggios that evoke spinning dreidels. It is as fun to play as to hear.
