Brahms’ Lullaby, op. 49 no. 4 (violin duo)
Title: Brahms’ Lullaby, op. 49 no. 4
Composer: Johannes Brahms, arr. David Gable
Instrumentation: Two Violin
Printout: 2 pages
Note: This melody is so widely recognized that many people who sing it to their children don’t even know it was composed by Brahms. It comes from Brahms’ setting of several poems from Des Knaben Wunderhorn, a collection of old German lyrics. It’s excellent music for quiet settings, interludes and so forth. Both parts in this arrangement have a turn with the melody, and each is given a different accompaniment.
