Water Music Suite in F, Bourèe and Hornpipe (violin viola duo)
Title: Bourèe and Hornpipe from Water Music Suite in F
Composer: G. F. Handel, arr. David Gable
Instrumentation: Violin and Viola
Printout: 2 pages
Note: In most versions of the suite, these dances appear directly after the Aire. Handel indicated that each should be played three times, albeit with different instrumentation each time. This hornpipe, by the way, is not the famous one. That’s from the Suite in D. Nevertheless, the hornpipe from the Suite in F is a delightful, spirited movement well suited to festive occasions. The violin part is playable on both flute and oboe.
These movements are also available in the Bargain Bundle Water Music, Highlights from the Suite in F.
