Note: This is the first movement of the Suite in D, also referred to as the overture. It has a majestic yet celebratory character that makes if ideal for preludes and postludes. The violin part can be performed on flute or oboe. The final Adagio is a transition to second movement and should be eliminated if performed as a stand-alone piece.
