Note: This bright march opens Charpentier’s most celebrated motet, the D Major Te Deum. It is ideal music for wedding processionals or recessionals. Although the Te Deum is a Christian motet, the Prelude is without text, and is therefore appropriate for ceremonies of any religious persuasion.
