Title: La Mourisque, from Danserye

Composer: Tielman Susato, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin 1 and 2

Printout: 2 pages

Note: Susato is largely remembered for his collection of dance music, Danserye, published in 1551, but he was also a composer of considerable skill. “La Mourisque” means “the Morris dance.” The violin part is playable on flute or oboe by taking one low note up an octave.
