Note: Written in 1819 and dedicated to the newly married composer’s wife, Invitation to the Dance, op. 65, (also identified as “rondo brillante”) is regarded as the first concert waltz (intended for listening rather than dancing). It is well known in both its original version for piano and its orchestrated version by Berlioz.
