I Remember an Evening (string trio)

Title: I Remember an Evening

Composer: César Cui, arr. David Gable

Instrumentation: Violin 1; Violin 2/Viola; Cello

Printout: 4 pages

Note: César Cui was, together with Balavirev, Borodin, Moussorgsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov, a member of the “New Russian School” (sometimes referred to as “The Five”), a group of late nineteenth-century Russian composers who sought to create music using classical forms but imbued with a distinctively Russian sound. Much of Cui’s music is vocal, with particular emphasis on art songs and operas. I Remember an Evening is a beautiful lyric piece with great appeal to audiences.
