Note: A Voyage to the Moon, which is loosely based on a novel by Jules Verne, is one of Offenbach’s well known light operas (referred to by the composer as a “fairy-tale opera”). The score and script are full of rollicking fun. This Galop is the rousing conclusion to the overture.
