Note: El Grillo (The Cricket) is a prime example of the frottola, an Italian form of vocal music that preceded and developed into the madrigal. Originally for four voices, El Grillo  has been arranged for SAB to make it accessible to young choruses. The piece is challenging but rewarding, and students enjoy its inherent humor and word painting.
