Note: Only a few of the movements from Telemann’s Canonic Sonatas work when played on instruments with differing registers. This Allegro is one of them. Its rhythmic variety and chromaticism (not so easy to accomplish in a canon) are a testament to Telemann’s skill. The violin part is playable on flute or oboe.
