Note: Although Brahms wrote many waltzes, op. 39 no. 15 has the distinction of being referred to as The Brahms Waltz. Brahms gave no tempo indication for this waltz; presumably he felt it was self-evident. The violin part in this setting can be played on flute with slight modifications, and on oboe by taking the last section down an octave.
