Note: Although the original aria was not composed by Bach, realization for harpsichord was transcribed into the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach (possibly her work rather than his, but we may never know for sure) and has come to be strongly associated with Bach. Originally a love song, it is often treated as an allegory for divine love. It’s ideal for wedding preludes and for  interludes and meditations in any setting.
