Level 1.0 (vcl)

Solos in level 1.0 are still at the elementary level, but are more difficult that those in level 0.5, They may involve double up bows, bow recovery lifts, and slurred string crossings, optional shifts to second position, and significant use of the fourth finger. They are comparable in difficulty to solos from the second half of Suzuki vol. 1.

These selections can be used as supplemental solos for students who need a bit more practice on a particular skill. They are also valuable as music for reading practice. Music was selected to represent a wide variety of world cultures.
