Galop, from A Voyage to the Moon (violin duo)
$4.29
Title: Galop, from the opéra-féerie A Voyage to the Moon
Composer: Jacques Offenbach, arr. David Gable
Instrumentation: Two Violins
Printout: 4 pages
Note: During his life-time, as today, Offenbach was celebrated as a composer of light opera. A Voyage to the Moon, which is loosely based on a novel by Jules Verne, is an opéra-féerie, or “fairy-tale opera.” The Galop is the rousing conclusion to the overture.
The first violin part of this arrangement can be played on the flute with modification of double stops and tremolos.
