Note: This larghetto is a beautiful piece by a sadly underperformed composer. This arrangement is based on the version published in 1803 by Cartier in L’Art du Violin. Mascitti may have been a pupil of Corelli, though his compositions are more galant in style. Born in Italy, he moved to France in 1704, becoming a French citizen in 1729. During his lifetime he was as highly regarded as Corelli and Albinoni.
