Note: Written in 1909-10, The Girl with Flaxen Hair is the eighth of Debussy’s first book of 12 preludes. Inspired by a poem by Charles Marie René Leconte de Lisle, it is intended to evoke images of a youthful girl in a pastoral setting.  It is one of the most frequently recorded of all Debussy’s works.
