Note: The use of quotation marks around the word blues and the inclusion of lightly disguised material from Peer Gynt (Morning Mood, of course, and also In the Hall of the Mountain King, I suppose because nobody likes being turned to stone at sunrise) suggest that Early in the Morning may be something of a musical parody. In any case, it is very entertaining to play and listen to, and light-spirited enough for cheerful occasions.
