Note: Pachelbel’s Canon in D is a must-have piece for gig musicians. Most duo arrangements of the Canon either put the violin into the overly bright high A string range, or drop the viola down an octave. I have kept the violin playing the high passages and with the viola harmonizing in lower positions. The result is much more satisfying than other options.
